When I was asked to do a review of BookmarkingDemon.com’s software I expected to find numerous negative remarks regarding the software.  Having been in some form of customer service most of my life before retiring, I felt sure I would find negative reviews. That is just the way it is.  No matter how hard you try; you just cannot please everyone all the time.  What I found were so many reviews praising the software that I kept going looking to find some dirt.  It was truly amazing with all the research I did and believe me I did a lot, I only found one person with a one line complaint saying it was crap.  That in itself told me that Mr. Brian had created software worth checking out and I purchased my download of BookmarkingDemon.  With starting any business the $147 fee for the download is very reasonable especially when it allows you to do your bookmarking in just a few minutes.   This allows you to let it do its work while you are taking care of your other needs.  Anyone having reservations or issues with the price should do their homework for other social bookmarking software should understand there are operating and/or start-up costs which you will find in most cases to be tax deductible but it also carries a 30 day money back guarantee.  So you have nothing to lose.  Should you still have reservations, compare BMD (BookmarkingDemon) to any other social bookmarking softwareI could not find any with all the bells and whistles Edwin included nor were their prices comparable.  There isn’t a monthly fee and all upgrades are free.  I can tell you if you are seeing my article for the first time, to check out the reviews listed on the website and then research just like I did.  Then I feel sure you will see this software is well worth the price.
When doing my review I began my research began with Edwin Brian, the creator of BookmarkingDemon software.  For me I like to research the writer/creator first simply because if there were problems with the software you would find derogatory comments on Mr. Brian.  I did not find any.  None.  Nada.  What I found was that Edwin recognized social bookmarking was definitely needed and started working to create software in 2004.  He worked, bought tools, and thankfully spent thousands of dollars to create and update the BookmarkingDemon software as needed.  Edwin Brian started his company (Edwinsoft) in 2006 and rolled out the first version of BookmarkingDemon software.  I found it somewhat amusing to read some of his comments web promotion on the BookmarkingDemon.com website, but if I were in his shoes I would hate the twists and turns technology has taken and the updates he had to make for the software to be compatible with each of those changes.  If you go through the whole website you will find there have been about 27 upgrades to make the software easier for his customers within about 7-8 years. That is what I call dedication.  He has provided the most up to date software as part of his dedication to his customers without a cost and remember…the updates are free.

I think it would be safe to recognize there are thousands of new companies and/or individuals creating and launching websites every day.  With launching each of those websites hopefully each creator has the knowledge that to be successful they must have web promotion. Website promotion is “the continuing process used by webmasters to increase exposure of a website to bring more visitors.”   Without it those backlinks (links from one webpage to another website) and the software to create traffic to their website would mean you would be spending days promoting your website.  In fact you would be spending all of your time creating those links to where you would not have time for anything else.  Have you tried writing a blog or article and manually created the links?  You have to write the article, submit it in blogger.com to get the address for the link and then go to the individual sites.  That takes so much time.  You first have to create an account with your email address for the website to send an activation link.  Then once that is done then you have to determine their terminology and steps this website uses to create a link.  Some are simple and easy to get done but others are not so much.  None of the websites I used created the tags (synonyms) for you.  They may not have some or they have some but not necessarily ones you need.  Many sites do not accept the tags you created probably because it was not programed in as part of their website.  Edwin recognized this and knew it was very important and used tags in the software to bring traffic back to website the software is promoting.  Doing the links manually to save money and doing hundreds of these takes so much time and we have found they need to be updated frequently.  Even if you think you want to do your links manually, there is a high probability in getting banned from social networking sites due to your IP address appearing over and over.  I found there is what I call the IP police looking for IP addresses that keep appearing in large amounts and will ban you from using social bookmarking directories.  With this software you don’t have to worry about ever happening to you.  Just plug in your information and let BookmarkingDemon software do its thing.

Have you ever searched for an item or document using different terminologies with the search to be sure you’re getting the best price or information, only to find it took you to the same website?  Tags as a part of the software will create more traffic which could conceivably rank your website higher with Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.  This is very important since the majority of people doing searches do not go past the first few pages the searches engines (a program that searches for and identifies items in a database that correspond to keywords or characters specified by the user) populate for a particular website on the web.  If it doesn’t make it by then I personally questioned the information promoted but with this research I found many of the other pages are more links back to some listed on the first pages.  As you can see this research has taught me many things.

One of the best things I have found with BookmarkingDemon software is it recognizes we are not tech savvy or geeks as some are called.  I printed out the smaller version of Quick Start Guide (33 pages) thinking I would have a hard time working through the setup without it.  Many of BookmarkingDemon users probably started as newbies like me, but either of the Quick Start Guides makes it is so easy that even the newbie like me couldn’t screw it up.  This guide walks you through each step, has screen shots and even describes the icon for the next step if needed.  Added to that are training videos I used to at: http://bookmarkingdemon.com/trainingvideos.htm just to be sure.  I guess I had more faith in Edwin than I did in myself so I went there with the guide to be sure plus I don’t like having to go to support for help if there are great training materials to access.  For me when I research the materials myself, I retain that information better than just having someone giving me all the answers I wanted.  I have used accounting software in the past that were not dedicated in making sure their customers had as smooth of a transition getting the software installed and working properly as BookmarkingDemon has done.  I was definitely impressed.

The operating system requirements for this software is to be used with Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8 only.  Since I have multiple devices, I had never taken the time to update one of my computers from Windows 7 since I personally feel Windows XP, and 7 are the best operating systems Windows has and Windows 10 comes in pretty close to them.  The license is for one instance.  What they are saying is that you can download the software on more than one device with that license, but can only use it on one device at a time.  What more could you ask for unless you were trying to scam BMD and purchase one license for multiple people to use at the same time.  If you SPAM, you can expect to be banned from directories.  This is legitimate software to be used in a professional manner.  It is also expected for each user to have anti-virus software on your computer since some sites are poorly secured and could possibly be infected with Trojans.  This software does not protect your devices. Plain and simple.  The directories are scanned for viruses on a regular basis and will remove any sites that are found to have viruses, but it is highly recommended to have good anti-virus software protecting your computer.  BookmarkingDemon cannot be held responsible for anything that happens to your computer when creating accounts or submission of content to any of the sites.  Be proactive, protect your device, and keep it updated as is recommended by the security software.

When beginning to use the software for the first time you should read, understand the license agreement and disclaimer, then click “Agree let me use program”.  If for any reason you do not agree you cannot proceed with setting up your account to use the software.
Once you have agreed and are ready to begin, you have the option of creating a shortcut on your desktop. Many find this to be an asset.  If choose the shortcut and find it convenient just click yes and proceed to the next step.  As with any software you have a key code to be entered before being able to use it.  This step took me by surprise.  Most key codes are like Windows and even my Malware software has 16 digits, but BookmarkingDemon has 64 digits!!  Lol.  I suggest you save the key code in a safe place just in case it is needed in the future.   Once you enter the key code and get the warning that your license has not been activated; click yes to activate the software.  This takes you to the Setup Wizard if this is your first time using the software.  It walks you through each step and commends that you choose auto run when starting up the software.  Also it is recommended you choose yes for the “ping-er” to auto run when starting.   Once this is completed you have finished setup and are ready to start your new task.

Before creating a new task, it is important to know the “submitter” must be up and running to submit the task.  If you chose not to select auto run the submitter when setting up your profile you will need to click icon looks like the play button for videos “► “ each time you start a task otherwise the software will not be able to submit the it.  Many websites when registering an account will have a CAPTCHA section for you to prove you are not a robot.  Just enter the information like you have done many times and click OK.  This action for hundreds of sites you are going to send this link to takes time.  So Edwin has a Visual Aid built in so we have 100% hands free submission.   Should you choose to use Visual Aid there are real live human beings who are entering the phrase for you for a fee of somewhere between $1.39 to $7.00 per 1000 images they provide.  Should you decide to use this service you would register with option(s) you chose by clicking on the link provided for each.  Once this is done you provide your id and password; to post money on the account you click “buy credits” to use this service.  At any time you can click “Check Balance” to see what has been used if any and your balance  Another option is choosing to “Skip sites that require CAPTCHA input” or enter manually which can take time out of your day.  Doing them manually, you will hear a doorbell ring letting you know there is input required.  Before starting a task I think you should decide if you want to use this service and if so, buy your credit so not to delay any submissions.

Now, from the projects tab you will choose “new” and then “bookmark task”.  This will then send you to “adding sites” where you add the sites you want your article to link to.  Again you have the option of selecting the individual sites by clicking “+” or choosing “select all” on the top right side of the screen.  By clicking “select all” saves you time and the chance of getting more traffic to your website.  Personally I would prefer this option simply because it will create the chance of more traffic and/or sales.  I would never turn away traffic no matter where it came from.  Still, if your website requires a category, you will need to specify one.  Type in the category you want and click “set category” and choose the websites you want to send your information to.  For instance, if you have an anti-viral software you want to promote, I would type “software, malware, anti-virus” separated just this way.  This screen shot shows how the website is ranked and looking at the bottom of the screen you will see the word “reputation” and if you choose your websites manually you will see the ratings from very poor to excellent.  Each is color coded so you will see this exactly know how the website’s reputation stands.  Once all the websites are chosen you will click on “add” on the bottom right side of the screen.  However again, I would choose the easiest way to complete this step and let the BookmarkingDemon software send your article to all the websites by clicking “select all”.

There are so many options to choose in getting things set up, but they are each explained very clearly but now we are ready to create an Account Profile.  On the account profile page you will set up your email address.  This is mandatory to be able to use the software.  If you have ever manually created links to a webpage you understand why this is required.  When registering on the sites you wanted to post the link you were required to provide your email address for the email to be sent to you with the activation link inside.  Until the account is activated you cannot submit the tasks.  The same applies here.  Without the email address, BMD would not be able to download the emails and automatically verify them for you.  With that in mind it is recommended you setup a separate email address just for this software.  Some article directories do not accept free email addresses hosted by Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.  There are instructions in the User Guide how to set each of those up individually.  It is not recommended to check to leave a copy of the message on the server unless you want to be emendated with hundreds of emails.  Later after you have submitted the task you will be able to see how the account is functioning without getting copies of those emails.  However it is imperative you click “test settings” to make sure the email profile has been set up correctly.  If there is an issue you will get a message to correct the selected information.  Once it is correct, click “ok”. With some websites they allow for avatars to be uploaded.  No it doesn’t upload a character from the movie Avatar, but it will choose an avatar from the pictures stored here.  You can upload pictures or make use of the random data if you like.  One of the fields will ask you to put your email in again and just put it in again and click to save.

Believe it or not we are getting close to finishing everything up.  It may seem like there is so much to know and do, but once you have completed the first task you will find it much easier and faster with the next one.  Next we need to add the URL you want to bookmark.  I am talking about Google.com, Bing.com, Ask.com, etc.  You would click on “+” to add the URL, but if you choose to delete one click the minus “-“and choose the one you want to delete.  On the Add Web Pages you will choose to paste the URLs there, but then you can paste any of them to the camouflage sites if you do not want the bookmarking activities to be seen.  You can also edit any of the details of the bookmarks by dragging or widening the details and make your changes.  To change the title of your article click on the title field and make your changes.  Finally in the description field is where you post your required article content.  Should you find you made typographical errors or you simply want to edit the article, click on the title and the rewriter will open and expand to make changes.  Now that you have your content into the system you can use the tab key to get the synonym chooser to open up.  If you are not familiar with the tab key or just choose not to use it; you can click on the icon that looks like a page with a squiggly line in the middle.  That too will open the tags for you to choose the synonyms that will best describe your article.  Remember, the more tags you choose the more traffic it will generate. From there you create a name for your article to better identify it in the future.  Finally, you will decide whether you want to submit your task (article) the minute you save it.  You can choose to submit at a later date to which it is recommended to try to submit the task up to 3 times and to wait 1 minute before submitting it.  This is giving a10 minute submission and may give your article a higher ranking.  Again, before submitting the article be sure the submitter was started otherwise BMD will not be able to submit it.  Click Save and BookmarkingDemon will take over from here and submit your article.

While this software is truly amazing, BookmarkingDemon.com cannot guarantee you success, but when used properly it will bring the traffic to your website and the rest of your success is up to you.  I have found this software to be very valuable to anyone wanting to do a web promotion and generate traffic back to your website.  The only thing I found for this review to be better would be for it to be usable with Windows 10, but until that time I am content using Windows 7.  Once I am proficient using BMD, I will consider upgrading to Ultimate Demon.
I also recommend you take a look at http://typingmakesmemoney.blogspot.com.  This is my first blog that started me working with http://typeathome.com.  Their website gives you a means to making extra money on the side or possibly making a career change typing articles. Check it out and remember it is a business opportunity to make money typing as an independent contractor.  It can be fun and again, go on over and check out both websites.  I think you will like what you see.
